Anna Pitsillides - Humanistic Counsellor
Do you find yourself at a time in your life where everything feels overwhelming and it’s hard to know which path to take? Have you entered a new phase in your life and want something to change? Maybe you feel stuck or maybe you want support with something? Whatever your reason for seeking counselling, my aim is to walk alongside you on your journey.
My name is Anna and I am a qualified, Humanistic counsellor. This means I work in a way that aims to see your world through your eyes and create a safe, non-judgemental space in which you can explore your thoughts and feelings. This may enable you to understand yourself better by building awareness of the way you relate to yourself and others in the world. In this way, the possibility for change and choice can become more apparent. I will work with you at your pace and encourage you to bring to sessions what you feel you need to explore.
My belief is that past experiences impact on the way we are in the present. Exploring beliefs and messages from the past can give us insight that will enable us the freedom to change aspects of ourselves or patterns of relating that are not serving us anymore.
I also believe that the relationship between a client and therapist is one of the most important factors, and an indicator of how successful the work will be. Additionally, the dynamics between us can serve as a template for how other relationships play out in your life and is something we can work with together. For this reason, it is important that we explore if I am going to be the right counsellor for you, which is something we can navigate in the first session.
My aim is to work with each person as a unique, individual so I encourage you to come with whatever you want to explore. In the course of my practice I have worked with people suffering with a range of challenges, some of which include; overwhelm, stress, bereavement, anxiety, depression, loss, relationships with family and friends, relationship to self, parenting, and low self-esteem. I you don’t see your issue on this list please don’t let that stop you from reaching out, if you are interested.
I am a member of and abide by the BACP framework.
