Hacina Guezoul - Gestalt Counsellor

About Hacina

My name is Hacina Guézoul and I am an associate counsellor at New Road Psychotherapy Centre.

Telling you about myself and my counselling experience might help you get a sense of how I work and support you in deciding whether and how I can help you.

I am a qualified Gestalt counsellor and an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, BACP. I also hold a Post-graduate Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy from the Metropolitan University London and I am currently studying as a senior trainee on the final year of the MA in Gestalt Psychotherapy. I am trained to work online as well as having specialist training in sexual violation and abuse. I teach counselling at a local college in Brighton.

With clients, I aim to provide a trusted and breathing space for them to explore the issue(s) they are currently facing and if they so wish, experiment with finding who they truly are. Taking a fresh look at their situation may increase their awareness and enable them to see new possibilities more clearly.

I have a particular interest in oppression of self in my therapeutic work. Examples of issues explored with clients are: relationship difficulties, work or life related stress, bullying and emotional abuse, domestic and relational violence, trauma, sexual abuse, anger, shame, self-harming, compulsive behaviour – including workaholism, eating disorders, alcoholism and substance abuse – bereavement, loss, depression, chronic health conditions, mixed heritage identity and self- development.

I can offer counselling in French and through a diverse mixed heritage I understand some Arabic. I have worked with clients from the UK as well as from USA, Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, Brazil, Serbia, Romania, Check Republic, Hungary etc. I also welcome LGBT clients.
