Group Analysis South Brighton & Hove Diploma Course
Group Analysis is a powerful therapeutic medium that concentrates on the relationship between the individual and the group. The Diploma Course is a further introduction to the theory and practice of group work, which can lead to Group Work Practitioner Status and Associate Membership of the IGA. It is also a prerequisite for application for the Qualifying Course in Group Analysis.
Course Overview
The course comprises of seminars (50 hours including NLE), work reflection groups (20 groups), large groups (10 per year), the National Learning Experience (NLE) weekend, subscription to the Group Analysis journal (online).
Assessment and Course Requirements
● Minimum 80% attendance
● 1 trial essay
● 2 essays - 1 theoretical, 1 reflective practice
● Course Work Reflection Group (WRG) supervisor’s report and workplace supervisor’s report where relevant.

Attendance Dates 2024-2025
10 Friday evenings (4:30 - 9pm online) and 10 Saturdays (9am-8pm in person)
2024: 6th- 7th Sept, 4th- 5th Oct, 8th- 9th Nov, 6th- 7th Dec
2025: 10th - 11th Jan, 7th - 8th Feb, 7th - 8th Mar, 28th - 29th Mar, 2nd, 3rd & 4th May (NLE weekend), 6th - 7thJun, 4th - 5th July
There may be some “minor” revision to the time frame. There will be coffee/tea breaks and a lunch break during the day.

Fees:
● Registration Fee: £200 non-refundable fee payable on application to secure your place.
● Early Bird Self-Funding: £3,950 available to first 6 individuals, not organisations, who apply and pay before 30th April 2024.
● Self-funding: £4,150
● Organisational funding: £4,500
Fees do not include:
● Personal therapy
● Workplace supervision costs

Please note there is no step-free access.
Entry Requirements:
● IGA Foundation Course or equivalent training
● Degree or entry essay
● Group to bring to Work Reflection Group agreed with the Course Convenor
● Attendance at a course interview with Convenor.
● The course runs over eleven block weekends between September 2024 to July 2025.
