Ros Wolf - Integrative Counsellor
We all have times in our lives when we're struggling with difficult feelings. Perhaps an unexpected event has happened in your life that's led you to feel overwhelmed and unable to cope. Or, a longer-term issue that was bearable now makes you feel stuck or lost. You could simply have the niggling sense that you're "not quite yourself" and would like to find out why that might be in order to make a change. We always hope that talking to friends and family about our feelings will help, and thankfully, sometimes it does. But if you feel that's not quite enough or that's not possible, then you may wish to consider counselling.
I am an experienced Integrative Counsellor based at New Road Psychotherapy Centre. I have been a counsellor for 12 years, and set up private practice in 2019. Before then, I worked for two branches of Mind, a London hospital bereavement service, a low-cost therapy service and a women’s healthcare charity. I have also volunteered for Samaritans.
I have supported clients with anxiety, depression, relationship problems, and through times of loss and major life changes, including navigating the impact of parenthood. I listen with warmth and care and without judgement. I offer a welcoming space to talk in confidence about what is troubling you.
I hold a Post-Graduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling (2015) from the Minster Centre, London. My training includes psychodynamic, humanistic, relational and person-centred therapeutic approaches. My way of being with clients is person-centred, whilst I keep psychodynamic ideas and attachment theory in mind to inform our work together.
I offer short and long-term counselling. My usual availability for face-to-face sessions is during the day, Tuesdays-Thursdays, and over the phone/online, Fridays. I offer weekly and fortnightly sessions.
It's not always easy to process what's going on inside, and feelings such as anger, loneliness, sadness, anxiety or shame are challenging to be with. Because of this, I aim to build a trusting therapeutic relationship with clients, so that you feel safe and supported as we explore what it is that's bought you to therapy. Our work together can help you manage your feelings better as you find a way forward that feels meaningful, with greater self-understanding.
