Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) offers a gentle and practical approach to finding relief from stress, anxiety and low-mood.

This course is open to anyone wanting to learn more about stress, anxiety and depression.

What is MBCT?

Mindfulness-based cognitive Therapy (MBCT) combines the principles of mindfulness meditation with cognitive behavioural therapy techniques. Developed specifically to target anxiety, stress, and low-mood, MBCT helps individuals develop a new relationship with their thoughts and emotions, fostering a greater sense of calm and well-being.

In the UK, the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) has suggested that MBCT is a priority for implementation.

How Does it Work?

In MBCT, you'll learn to cultivate mindfulness through meditation practices, gentle movement, and practical exercises. By becoming more aware of your thoughts and feelings without judgment, you can break free from negative thought patterns and automatic reactions that contribute to anxiety, stress, and depression.

Benefits of MBCT:

  • Reduces anxiety, stress, and symptoms of depression

  • Enhances self-awareness and emotional resilience

  • Improves concentration and focus

  • Promotes a sense of peace and well-being

  • Empowers you to manage difficult emotions more effectively

Who Can Benefit?

MBCT is suitable for anyone struggling with anxiety, stress, or depression, whether it's a recent challenge or a long-standing issue. It's also beneficial for those who wish to prevent relapse after recovering from depression.
